EPAL marks National Water Day with the launch of the exclusive Bordallo Pinheiro droplet jug
EPAL and Bordallo Pinheiro on Portuguese tables for over a century
EPAL is celebrating National Water Day with the launch of the droplet jug. This initiative results from a partnership between EPAL and Bordallo Pinheiro that has brought these two emblematic and centuries-old companies together on Portuguese tables.
For more than a century on Portuguese tables and accompanying the most delicious and traditional meals, EPAL and Bordallo Pinheiro have just signed the partnership “If you want water, drink it”, inspired by Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro, author of the popular representation of Zé Povinho, who became a symbol of the Portuguese people.
From this alliance between two large Portuguese companies, the new droplet jug was born. A droplet-shaped jug with water reliefs on its surface which, in addition to suggesting shapes of water droplets, is also inspired by works by Bordallo Pinheiro in the colours and reliefs that characterise its brand identity.
Turquoise blue in colour and with a handle that makes us think of a water droplet, this exclusive piece of crockery reminds us of the earthenware jugs used in old bedroom sinks, especially the spout that has a more organic and curvier silhouette. As a table jug, with the diversity and richness of all these aesthetic details, the implication is that EPAL water is ever-present in life and family.
This time water united the paths of the two companies. Once again, EPAL was responsible for presenting tap water as the most sustainable and environmentally friendly option, offering the community a unique piece of crockery to take to the table. Bordallo Pinheiro's mission was to create a piece of crockery that has the responsibility of welcoming such a precious good that is essential to life. Together, water and the exclusive piece of crockery that welcomes water celebrate the environment, Portuguese ceramics, quality national production and the conviviality so characteristic and essential at Portuguese families’ tables.
