Throughout the year, EPAL will also unveil several images around the city of Lisbon that show how water is ever present in our life.
As part of EPAL’s 150th birthday celebrations, the Water Museum will open its doors to the public, free of charge, at weekends. Barbadinhos Steam Pumping Station, Águas Livres Aqueduct, “Mãe d’Água” reservoir at Amoreiras and the Patriarcal Reservoir will also be open to receive families, inviting them to get to know, at the actual location, the history of the water supply to the city of Lisbon.
In addition, a series of other initiatives will also be launched to celebrate water and the importance of the service it provides in people’s lives.
The start of the celebrations will be marked with the launch of an Institutional Campaign whose moto is: “EPAL, 150 Years. The water that lives within us” present on Lisbon City Council outdoor information panels and on the company’s billboards in Lisbon, Loures and Amadora. The images and messages that the new Campaign contains, show how water is present in everything that lives, becoming an element of union and an integral part of the history of humanity.
This is, once again, an excellent opportunity for EPAL to show how the water treatment and distribution process works, as well as to reinforce the importance of water and its presence in the daily lives of the public.
